Ali Khan Tughlaq, son of actor Mansoor Ali Khan, was arrested on Wednesday in connection with a drug trafficking case following a detailed investigation by the Thirumangalam Police, according to reports. He was interrogated on Tuesday prior to his arrest.

Reportedly, the inquiry was launched after authorities received intelligence suggesting Tughlaq's involvement with a drug trafficking network. Earlier, the police had detained 10 individuals, including college students, linked to the same syndicate. Among those arrested alongside Tughlaq were Seyad Saki, Mohammed Riyas Ali, and Faisal Ahmed. All four are currently in police custody for further questioning.

Tamil Nadu has seen a surge in cases involving international drug trafficking, with substances such as methamphetamine (meth) and its precursor, pseudoephedrine, being smuggled to high-demand markets like Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Australia. Acting on intelligence reports, the local police and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) have ramped up efforts to crack down on these operations.

Mansoor Ali Khan was last seen in a cameo appearance in Suriya's Kanguva. He was also seen in Joshua: Imai Pol Kaakha, Vasco da Gama and Aavesham earlier this year.
