Actors Jiiva and Priya Bhavani Shankar are set to team up for the first time for debut director KG Balasubramani's upcoming thriller Black.

Billed as a thriller, director Balasubramani says, "The darkness enveloping us may be referred to as black. In another context, we may use the term ‘Black’ to describe the hidden nature of certain aspects of ours, making it difficult for others to comprehend us. The film centres around this theme, narrated with thriller and racy moments.”

He adds that the film will lay focus on the events affecting a couple over the course of a night.

The production of Black, primarily set in Chennai, has concluded and the film is all set to hit theatres in September.

Black, produced by Potential Studios, boasts a technical crew comprising cinematographer Gokul Benoy, music composer Sam CS, editor Philomin Raj, stunt choreographer Metro Mahesh, lyricists Madhan Karky and Chandru, and choreographer Sherif.
