Director Vijay Milton will be making a webseries, Goli Soda Rising, based on the events of his 2014 film Goli Soda and the 2018 film Goli Soda 2, for the streamer Disney+ Hotstar.

The makers released the teaser for the series on Saturday. Without revealing anything significant about the series, the glimpse shows a sequence of action scenes with the main characters of the original film returning and taking a vow to stay united no matter what.

Apart from Kishore, Sree Raam, Pandi and Murugesh, the cast also includes Cheran, John Vijay, Shaam, Pugazh, Avantika, Ammu and Ramya. Goli Soda Rising will serve as the sequel to Goli Soda 1 and a prequel to the second part.

The official plotline of the webseries reads, "In the bustling Koyambedu Market, four boys rise from obscurity to carve out their own identity. However, they realise that the pursuit of identity is endless."

Vijay Milton last made Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan, starring Vijay Antony, Megha Akash, Daali Dhananjaya, Murali Sharma, Pruthvi Ambaar, Thalaivasal Vijay, and Saranya Ponvanan in prominent roles.

The film, that also released in Telugu as Toofan, released on August 2 to mixed to negative reviews.
