Actor Arjun Sarja's upcoming film Virundhu, which has been in the making for a long time, finally has a release date. The makers announced on Thursday that the action film will hit theatres on August 29 and shared that the trailer will be released on Friday at 7 pm.

In Malayalam, the film has been titled Virunnu. Filmmaker Thamara Kannan has helmed several Malayalam films like Varal (2022), Udumbu (2021), Vidhi: The Verdict (2021), Pattabhiraman (2019) and more.

Virunnu/Virundhu marks Arjun’s fourth Malayalam film after Vandae Maatharam, Jack & Daniel and Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham.

An earlier poster that was released back in July last year had the characters in the backdrop of a symbol that represents Illuminati. The film is expected to explore themes of occult rituals and satanic cults apart from being a action-entertainer.

Virundhu is produced by Gireesh Neyyar under his banner Neyyar Films. The script is by Dinesh Pallath while cinematography is handled by Ravi Chandran and Pradeep Nair.
