Jani Master and Sathish Krishnan won Best Choreography for the song Megham Karukkatha from the 2022 film Thiruchitrambalam at the 70th Natonial Film Awards announced on Friday. The song was composed by Anirudh in the Mithran R. Jawahar directorial.

In addition to Best Choreography, Thiruchitrambalam was also related to another National Award. Nithya Menen was awarded Best Actress for her role as Shobana as well.

Megham Karukkatha follows the characters of Pazham (Dhanush) and Shobana (Menen) as they take a stroll at midnight after Pazham's date with Anusha (Raashii Khanna). The melodious number is crooned and written by Dhanush. This marks the first National Award win for both Jani Master as well as Sathish Krishna.

Thiruchitrambalam was written and directed by Mithran R. Jawahar and stars Dhanush, Nithya Menen, Bharathiraja, Prakash Raj, Raashii Khanna, and Priya Bhavani Shankar.
