Vemal and Karunaas' Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai is all set for release on August 23, the makers announced on Wednesday. The film is directed by debutant Micheal K Raja.

The trailer, which was released back in May, showed Vemal as a hearse van driver who gives Karunaas' character a ride on the way to his destination where he is to deliver a dead body. Karunaas is a Koothu artist who seemed to be telling a story to Vemal through their ride.

Apart from Vemal and Karunaas, the film also stars Aadukalam Naren, Deepa Shankar and Pavan in prominent roles.

Speaking to CE about the film, director Michael had said, "Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai will be high on emotions and there would be situational comedies that are written in a way not to disrupt the overall tone of the film."

Backed by Siva Killari of Shark 9 Pictures, Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai's technical crew also comprises of music director NR Raghunandan, cinematographer Demel Xavier Edwards, editor M Thiyagarajan, and stunt choreographer Metro Mahesh.

Upon release on August 23, the film will clash with Mari Selvaraj's Vaazhai and PS Vinothraj's Kottukkaali.
