Sri Thenandal Films to revive their signature devotional films

Details regarding the plot, cast, and crew are yet to be announced by the makers

The production banner Sri Thenandal Films is all set to revive director Rama Narayanan's 1990 film Aadi Velli. PV Dharanidharan has been roped in to helm the upcoming remake, which will have a plot altered to suit modern sensibilities. The film is expected to bring together genres such as sci-fi, fantasy, and spirituality. The film is also expected to be a followed a by a series of their signature devotional films.

The makers of Aadi Velli also unveiled a first-look poster on Monday, featuring a trident and an elephant. The visual effects team that won the Academy Award for their work in Jungle Book has been roped in to handle the effects for Aadi Velli. The film will reportedly retain the original elements and characters, like the elephant and the king cobra.

The Aadi Velli remake will be backed by N Ramasamy under the Sri Thenandal Films banner. Details regarding the plot, cast, and crew are yet to be announced by the makers. The makers have also announced that the film will hit theatres in 2025 in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam, in addition to Tamil.
