Giving rise to controversy on the day his film Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan was released, director Vijay Milton has alleged that a creative decision has been made without his consent.

In a video message, Milton said there is a one-minute exposition scene at the beginning of the film, which potentially kills the suspense about who the lead character is, played by Vijay Antony. He wondered how a scene can be added to a film after getting certified by the CBFC.

The Goli Soda director's statement has kicked off a fresh row in tinseltown.

The film, which is also slated to be released in Telugu as Toofan, is directed by Vijay Milton, who also serves as the cinematographer.

The extended cast of Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan comprises Sathyaraj, Sarath Kumar, Megha Akash, Dhananjay, Murali Sharma, Sharanya Ponvannan, Thalaivasal Vijay and Pruthvi Ambaar, among others.

The action thriller is produced by Kamal Bohra, Lalitha Dhananjayan, Pradeep B, Pankaj Bohra, and S Vikram Kumar of Infiniti Film Ventures.

Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan has released in theatres today alongside Yogi Babu's Boat, Nakkhul's Vasco Da Gama, actor Ananth's directorial debut Nanban Oruvan Vandha Piragu, and Pari Elavazhagan's Jama.
