Sardar 2's production banner, Prince Pictures, announced that Malavika Mohanan has been added to the cast of the film, a sequel to the 2022 Karthi starrer. Launched this July, the film sees the return of actor Karthi in the lead role and PS Mithran as the director. As announced earlier, SJ Suryah is also part of the cast. The makers are yet to confirm whether the rest of the cast of Sardar, including Raashi Khanna and Munishkanth, will return for the sequel.

Also returning are George C Williams as the cinematographer and Dhilip Subbarayan as the stunt director. Yuvan Shankar Raja replaced GV Prakash as the music composer, and Vijay Velukutty replaced Antony L Ruben as the editor.

Sardar 2 is produced by Lakshman Kumar under his Prince Pictures banner.

Malavika Mohanan will be next seen in the Vikram-Pa Ranjith film Thangalaan, for which she recently finished dubbing. Thangalaan is slated for an August 15 release. Her upcoming projects also include The Rajasaab, starring Prabhas in the lead.
