The makers of Star, featuring Kavin in the lead, have dropped its trailer earlier today. The trailer gives insights into the film's plot, about a wounded young man going in search of film stardom. The film also stars Malayalam actor Lal, Aaditi Pohankar, and Preity Mukhundhan. While Lal plays Kavin's father in the film, both Preity and Aaditi seem to play his love interest. Elan is the writer and director of Star, which wrapped its shoot this February.

In a previous conversation with CE, Elan described Star as a film offering a blend of college story, family drama and romance, different from his debut Pyaar Prema Kaadhal. The film sees the reunion of Elan with his Pyaar Prema Kaadhal composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. On the technical front, Star has cinematography by Ezhil Arasu K, editing by Pradeep E Ragav, stunts by Vicky, art direction by Vinoth Raj Kumar N, and costumes by Sujith Sudhakaran.

Star is is slated for a worldwide release on May 10.
