We had previously reported that actor Ramarajan is reuniting with Ilaiyaraaja for an upcoming film titled Saamaniyan. On Tuesday, the makers announced that the film is all set to hit theatres on May 23. 

Directed by R Rahesh, who is known for films like Thambikottai and Maraindhirundhu Paarkum Marmam Enna, the film marks Ramarajan's comeback after a decade-long break.

Saamaniyan also stars Naksha Saran as the female lead, and Radharavi and MS Bhaskar playing pivotal roles. Initially, Achu Rajamani was roped in to compose music for the film. However, he was later replaced with veteran composer Ilaiyaraaja, who is reuniting with Ramarajan after 23 years. 

Saamaniyan is produced by Mathiyalagan V under the Etcetra Entertainment banner. The film's cinematography is handled by C Arul Selvan and is edited by Ram Gopi. A Rahesh has written and directed Saamaniyan from a story by V Karthik Kumar.
