To make the most of the headwind re-releases are experiencing in the recent times, Ajith's 2007 blockbuster Billa will be re-releasing in cinemas.

The action film will be re-releasing on May 1, coinciding the actor's birthday.

Billa is a remake of Rajinikanth's 1980 hit film of the same name, which was a remake of Amitabh Bachchan's film Don. Billa revolves around a notorious gangster Billa (Ajith) who gives a hard time to cops around the globe. A doppelganger is planted inside the gang by cops to extract information about the syndicate after Billa dies in an accident. Whether the doppelganger manages to do the job entrusted to him without exposing himself to the gangsters is what the movie is about.

The film is directed by Vishnuvardhan and produced by L Suresh and Abdurrahman M under the banner Ananda Picture Circuit. Apart from Ajith, the film stars Prabhu, Rahman, Nayanthara and Namitha.

Technical crew of Billa comprises cinematographer Nirav Shah, editor Sreekar Prasad and music director Yuvan Shankar Raja.
