Manushi Trailer: Shows signs of a hard-hitting account on custodial torture

CE Features

Trailer of Gopi Nainar's Manushi, starring Andrea Jeremiah, has released on Wednesday.

The over two-minute video follows the character of Andrea, who is suspected to have provided a safe haven for terrorists at her residence. The glimpse video is heavy on dialogues and mostly shows the interrogation scenes, and the kind of questions the protagonist is being asked. Questions like how is the name of the protagonist's father spelt and which team would she support in an India vs Pakistan cricket match, clearly shows how probes are rooted in caste discrimination and jingoism.

The scenes shown in the trailer give a recall to Visaranai.

Manushi is directed by N Gopi Nainar and produced by Vetri Maaran's Grassroot film company. Nasser, Tamizh and Hakkim Shah too play pivotal roles in the film.

Music director Ilaiyaraaja, cinematographer AM Edwin Sakay and editors Anthony and R Ramar make up the technical crew of Manushi.
