Last week, Suriya announced that his next film, tentatively titled Suriya 43, will be directed by Sudha Kongara. Now, reports suggest that the film is all set to go on floors by January next year. It was also confirmed that Suriya will be sharing screen space with Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya Fahadh, and Vijay Varma in the film.

Backed by Suriya and Jyotika's home banner, 2D Entertainment, the yet-to-be-titled film will have music by GV Prakash. The composer, who won the National Award for Best Background Score for Sudha Kongara-Suriya's Soorarai Pottru, will be marking his 100th film with Suriya 43. 

The makers revealed the second half of the title to be Purananooru, while the complete title is yet to be announced. Suriya is currently filming for the Siva directorial Kanguva, he is also set to appear in a cameo role in the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru. The remake, which stars Akshay Kumar in the lead, is scheduled to release on February 26, 2024.
