The first single from the upcoming Tamil film Jigarthanda Double X, Maamadura, was released on Monday. The song is sung by Dhee and Santhosh Narayanan with lyrics by Vivek.

The film starring SJ Suryah and Raghava Lawrence in the lead roles, is a sequel to the 2013 film, which starred Siddharth and Bobby Simha. Scheduled to release for Diwali, the sequel will also be helmed by filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj who directed the original as well. Nimisha Sajayan, who recently was seen in Chithha, is also part of the sequel.

The shooting of Jigarthanda Double X was wrapped in the first week of July and the film hit the screens on Deepavali 2023. The film is helmed by Karthik Subbaraj, who directed the first part as well.

Jigarthanda Double X's technical crew includes music composer Santhosh Narayanan, cinematographer S S Thirunavukarasu, who collaborated with Karthik Subbaraj in Mercury and Petta, and editor Shafique Mohamed Ali.

The film is backed by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam and Kathiresan under the Stone Bench Films & Five Star Creations banners.
