The makers of Thiru Manickam, the upcoming Tamil film starring actor-director Samuthirakani in the lead role, announced that the film's shoot has been wrapped, on Saturday. The film is directed by Nanda Periyasamy, who has earlier helmed Anandham Vilayadum Veedu.

Apart from Samuthirakani, the film also stars Bharathiraja, Thambi Ramaiah, Karunakaran, Chaams, Vadivukarasi, and Ilavarasu, among others. Thiru Manickam is backed by GP Ravi Kumar, Chinta Gopala Krishna Reddy and Raja Senthil.

In an earlier conversation with CE, the director of the film said, “It is a film set against the backdrop of Papanasam and revolves around a man who is getting chased by everyone for doing good, yet he overcomes opposition. It can be called a society drama and highlights the difference between surviving and living. Among everyone who is trying to survive, this man wants to live. In short, the film is how Manickam becomes Thiru Manickam.” He also added that the upcoming film is based on a true incident.

The technical crew of the film consists of M Sukumar as the cinematographer and Vishal Chandrasekar scoring the music. SP Raja Sethupathi is the editor. The director said that the team is planning to release in a couple of months.
