With the industry taking sides in the ongoing controversy surrounding Paruthiveeran's making and release, many directors like Vetri Maaran, Samuthirakani have come in support of director Ameer. However this also gave rise of speculations that Ameer’s involvement, who is set to star alongside Suriya in the upcoming film Vaadi Vaasal, may get hampered.

Vaadi Vaasal, directed by Vetri Maaran, stars Suriya in the lead role. Reports suggested that due to the debate surrounding Paruthiveeran which starred Suriya's brother and Karthi in his debut, it is unlikely that Suriya and Ameer will be sharing a screen space.

However, Vetri Maaran’s banner, Grass Root Film Co took to X to reconfirm Ameer's presence. "Director Vetri Maaran met Director Ameer to discuss his role in Vaadi vaasal. The prominence of his role in the script has increased during the writing process and is tailor made for Director Ameer. He is irreplaceable as an actor in the film,” the banner wrote.

The upcoming film will see Suriya collaborate with Vetri Maaran for the first time. The film is an adaptation of the popular writer CS Chellapa’s Tamil novel of the same name.
