Nanda Periyasamy to direct Samuthirakani

Director Nanda Periyasamy, who last helmed Anandham Vilayadum Veedu, will be joining hands with Samuthirakani for a new film. The film which went on floors today has music by Vishal Chandrasekar and cinematography by M Sukumar. The yet-to-be-titled film bankrolled by GPRK Productions, also stars Ananya, Bharathiraja and Nassar in important roles. The thriller will be shot in Meghamalai, Moonar and Kumuli without any schedule breaks. 

Samuthirakani is also directing Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej, in parallel in the Telugu remake of his Tamil film Vinodhaya Sitham. The yet-to-be-titled film will hit the screens on July 28. On the acting front, he was last seen in Dhanush's Vaathi and he has films like Vimaanam, Indian 2 and Game Changer in various stages of production. 

Notably, Nanda made his Bollywood debut as a writer with Rashmi Rocket in 2021. The film starred Taapsee Pannu in the titular role.
