The Oscars season might be over, but did not determine Indian cricketer and producer MS Dhoni from meeting the team of award-winning documentary short The Elephant Whisperers. Recently, the Twitter handle of Chennai Super Kings, the IPL team Dhoni is playing for, shared a clip of him meeting Bomman and Bellie.

Bomman and Bellie are the caretakers who were featured in The Elephant Whisperers which was helmed by Karthiki Gonsalves. Dhoni also presented them with CSK jerseys along with the team's respective names. Dhoni’s daughter Ziva was also present.

The Elephant Whisperers won the Oscar for documentary short which was given out earlier this year. The documentary is set in Theppakadu Elephant Camp of the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve in India’s Tamil Nadu and traces the lives of two elephant caretakers Bomman and Bellie, who belong to the tribe of the land. The heartening documentary shows the tender relationship between the caretakers and jumbos, Ammu and Raghu, who are taken under their wings. The film is produced by Guneet Monga.

The Elephant Whisperers is streaming on Netflix.
