Previously, we reported that actor Vikram sustained an injury during the rehearsals for Thangalaan, resulting in a broken rib. The shoot for the Pa Ranjith film has therefore been put on hold. On Monday, actor Daniel Caltagirone, who plays an important role in the film, took to Twitter to update that he is going back home, as the filming has been paused.

Sharing pictures of himself, he wrote, "From the set of Thangalaan to back home. Hopefully, I will be back to action soon!" (sic)

Thangalaan is expected to showcase the story of the origins of the Kolar Gold Field of Karnataka. Also starring Parvathy Thiruvothu and Malavika Mohanan, the film is backed by Studio Green and Neelam Productions. GV Prakash is scoring the music of the film, marking his first collaboration with the filmmaker.

Tamil Prabha is the co-writer of the film while Selva RK and SS Murthi will be handling the editing and art departments, respectively. The film also will release in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

A release date for Thangalaan is yet to be fixed.
