The audio launch of Raavana Kootam, which stars Shanthnu Bhagyaraj and Kayal Anandhi in lead roles, took place in Dubai on Saturday. Now, the makers have confirmed that the film will have a theatrical release on May 12. 

Billed as a rural drama, the film is written and directed by Vikram Sugumaran, who is best known for making the 2013 film Madha Yaanai Koottam. The music for Raavana Kootam has been composed by Justin Prabhakaran. He had earlier made the music for films like Pannaiyarum Padminiyum, Dear Comrade, and Radhe Shyam.

Apart from Shanthnu and Anandhi, the cast of the film also includes Prabhu, Ilavarasu, PL Thenappan, Deepa Shankar, and Aruldoss. Vetrivel Mahendran has taken care of the cinematography while the editing is done by Lawrence Kishore. Raavana Kootam is produced by Kannan Ravi.
