Actor Malavika Mohanan has joined the sets of Thangalaan in Chennai, to shoot for another schedule of the film. While her role in the film is kept under wraps, Thangalaan is directed by Pa Ranjith and stars Vikram in the lead role.

Earlier while speaking about the film, Malavika had wrote on social media that Thangalaan is the toughest film she has ever worked in and said it tested her physical, mental and emotional endurance,

Alongside Malavika and Vikram, the film also stars Parvathy Thiruvottu, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, Hari Krishnan in pivotal roles.

Thangalaan is backed by Neelam Productions and Studio Green. The film has music by GV Prakash. It is a period film set against the backdrop of KGF in Karnataka. It is expected to showcase the origin story of the place. The post-theatrical rights of Thangalaan are bagged by Netflix.

Meanwhile, Malavika was last seen in Malayalam film Christy and . She is also speculated to be part of Prabhas' Raja Deluxe.
