Jackson Durai: The Second Chapter, the upcoming film starring the father-son duo Sathyaraj and Sibiraj, has entered the final schedule of the shoot. Directed by Dharanidharan, who previously helmed the original Jackson Durai, the new film is said to be different from the 2016 horror comedy.

The makers also noted that the final schedule will be shot in a grand periodical set. Jackson Durai: The Second Chapter has Samyuktha Viswanathan of Enga Hostel-fame playing the female lead and actors Sharath Ravi and Mani HK playing important roles. The film has music by Siddharth Vipin, cinematography by Kalyan Venkataraman, and editing by Shafiq Mohammed Ali.

In an earlier conversation with CE, the filmmaker said, "This is a much more serious film in comparison, and it is not a sequel. We retained the title because of the inclusion of the pre-independence angle and Britishers in the storyline," says Dharanidharan, who also added that the Second Chapter is a horror thriller with the story set in two timelines-- present and 1940s.

Father-son duo Sathyaraj and Sibiraj had previously worked together in films like Jore, Mannin Maindhan, Kovai Brothers, Vetrivel Sakthivel, and Jackson Durai.
