Tamilarasan, the recently released Tamil film starring Vijay Antony in the lead role, will premiere on ZEE5 on June 16, the streaming platform announced on social media.

The film is helmed by director Babu Yogeswaran, who previously directed the 2005 Jayam Ravi film Daas. Vijay Antony plays a police officer in Tamilarasan. Remya Nambessan plays his wife in the film. The film also has Suresh Gopi playing the role of a doctor, Sonu Sood, Yogi Babu, among others.

Tamilarasan's technical crew includes music composer Ilaiyaraaja and cinematography by RD Rajasekhar. The film is produced by S Kowsalya Rani.

“Despite working on the same premise, the lack of adaptation to the Indian sensibilities makes the commentary in Tamilarasan a mere footnote, and not remotely impactful,” reads CE review of Tamilarasan.
