On Wednesday, director Manthira Moorthy, who made his debut with Ayothi, took to Twitter to refute rumours claiming his collaboration with Kangana Ranaut for his next. For the past two days, several media houses reported that Kangana is all set to reunite with Madhavan for a film directed by Manthira.

Taking to Twitter, the director wrote, "Hi everyone, my next project is also Trident Arts Offl. But I'm not directing the project starring Kangana Ranaut. Very soon we will announce our next project. Thank you."

Kangana Ranaut and Madhavan have previously shared screen space in Aanand L Rai's Tanu Weds Manu (2011) and Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015). Several reports suggested that the two actors are uniting after 8 years for this upcoming film. However, the news is yet to be confirmed by the makers.
