The makers of Manoj Bharathiraja's directorial debut, Margazhi Thingal, announced that legendary musician Ilaiyaraaja has joined the film's team to compose music, on Friday. Starring Manoj's father and veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja in the lead role, the film marks a collaboration between Ilaiyaraaja and Bharathiraja after 31 years. 

Margazhi Thingal also stars debutantes Rakshana and Shyam Selvan in prominent roles. Director Suseenthiran is backing the film under his home banner, Vennila Productions. The first schedule of Margazhi Thingal was recently wrapped.

The technical crew consists of cinematography by AR Suriya and editing by Thiyagu. It is to be noted that Manoj made his acting debut with Taj Mahal, which was helmed by Bharathiraja.
