Director ARK Saravan, who recently had the release of his sophomore directorial Veeran, announced on Thursday, that his debut film Maragatha Naanayam is all set to get a sequel. 

On a social media platform, Saravan shared a photo of an Emerald stone and wrote, "'2'... Loading... with Bangggg." He also mentioned G. Dillibabu and Axess Film Factory, the producer of Maragatha Naanayam. It is to be noted that Maragatha Naanayam means Emerald.

The 2017 film Maragatha Naanayam marked the maiden directorial venture of ARK Saravan. The film starred Aadhi, Nikki Galrani, Anandraj, Munishkanth and Daniel in lead roles. Senguttuvan (Aadhi) and Elango (Daniel) are petty thieves hired by a smuggler to find a treasure that curses people to death. The duo summon three spirits to help locate the treasure, with the help of a priest. What follows is a hilarious ride as they get entangled in mystical factors.
