We had earlier reported that Kajal Aggarwal, Regina Cassandra, Janani and Raiza Wilson are teaming up with director Deekay for Karungaapiyam. The film's trailer was released on social media on Monday by actor Vijay Sethupathi. 

The trailer introduces us to Regina finding a book titled 'Karungaapiyam' which has predicted the future. We then see shots of Kajal Aggarwal in a period get-up with a child. From here, the trailer introduces Janani and Raiza, and movies on the eerie portions, keeping us guessing what the film could be about. The film also stars a fifth heroine, Noyrika from Iran along with Kalaiyarasan, Yogi Babu, Karunakaran, John Vijay, Sha Ra and Lollu Sabha Manohar. 

Previously, speaking about the film, Deekay says, "Karungaapiyam is a horror film and we went with that title as it roughly translates to 'dark tales'. The film will have different genres of horror, unlike Yaamirukka Bayamey which was a horror-comedy and Kaatteri that's a fairytale-based horror-comedy. The film will be about how the lives of five different people collide."

Shot in and around Chennai, Udumalaipettai, and Pollachi, the Karungaapiyam will have music by Prasad. Backed by PaVe Entertainments, Vijay Velukutty will be handling the edit.
