Aditi Balan who debuted in Tamil cinema with Arun Prabhu Purushotthaman’s Aruvi was recently seen in the series Story Of Things. Directed by George K Antoney, the series revolved around giving life to things around us like car, compressor, weighing scale, mirror, etc. Aditi played the role of Vannamayil in the episode ‘Cellular’ in this anthology series.

Speaking to Cinema Express in an interview, Aditi Balan said that she keeps getting serious roles and that she wishes to do more fun, comic roles. “I am open to exploring light-hearted roles in the genres of comedy, romance, etc. I feel like I have been put in a box by doing these serious roles.” She however also explained that she does not exactly have a game plan to get into roles that mainstream cinema offers.

She added, “I will not be completely saying no to serious scripts. But I want to do more of other genres.” Speaking about why she chose the script, the Aruvi actor shared that she not only loved the overall idea of the story but also thought that it had a nice psychological aspect to it.

After Aruvi, Aditi Balan starred in Nalan Kumarasamy’s segment Aadal Padal from the anthology Kutty Story. She debuted in Malayalam with Tanu Balak’s Cold Case where she featured along with Prithviraj Sukumaran. She is currently awaiting the release of Shaakuntalam directed by Gunasekar, in which Samantha will be playing the titular role.
