PS Vinothraj, who made headlines with his directorial debut Koozhangal (Pebbles), is set to helm a film with Soori next. Actor Sivakarthikeyan will be producing the film, which is still in its initial stages. More details are expected to be announced by the makers shortly.

Vinothraj's Koozhangal was screened at last year's International Film Festival Rotterdam, where it received the Tiger Award. It was also selected as India's entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards. The film, however, is yet to be released in theatres or any streaming platforms.

Meanwhile, Soori is making his debut as a lead actor with Viduthalai, directed by Vetrimaaran. Also starring Vijay Sethupathi, the project has been planned to be released in two parts.
