We had earlier reported that actors Gautham Karthik and R Sarath Kumar are teaming up for an upcoming film, Criminal. The team has now wrapped up with the Madurai schedule of the shooting, the makers announced.

Written and directed by debutant Dhakshina Moorthy Ramar, the film is produced by PR Meenakshi Sundaram and IB Karthikeyan under Parsa Pictures and Big Print Pictures.

In an earlier conversation with CE, the director said that Criminal is a murder mystery. Set in Madurai, Sarath plays a rural cop and Gautham plays an accused.

The film's technical crew includes cinematographer Prasanna S Kumar, music composer Sam CS, editor Manikandan Balaji and production designer Surya Rajeevan.

Meanwhile, Gautham Karthik will be next seen in Pathu Thala alongside Silambarasan. The film will release on March 30. On the other hand, Sarath Kumar, last seen in Vijay's Varisu, has a handful of projects, including Aazhi, The Smile Man, and Paramporul, among others.
