Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu directed by Gautam Vasudev Menon was one of the high-grossing Tamil films of 2022. Vels Film International, the producer of the film, has now released the original soundtrack of the film. Taking to Twitter, the production company shared the link to the original soundtrack.

Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu's music was composed by AR Rahman and ended up becoming one of the most popular albums of the year. The song Mallipoo, sung by Madhushree was one of the most trending songs. 

Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is a two-part film. The first part opened to positive reception and follows the rise of one named Muthu who comes to Mumbai in search of livelihood and becomes a gangster. The film stars Silambarasan T R in the lead while Siddhi Idnani plays the female lead, which marks her Tamil debut. The ensemble cast of the film also includes Raadhika Sarathkumar, Neeraj Madhav, and Siddique in supporting roles.

Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is based on a short story written by novelist Jeyamohan, who has also co-written the screenplay with director Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film had its theatrical release on 15 September and received generally favourable reviews. During the audio launch of the film, the director confirmed that a sequel is reportedly in development with the primary cast set to reprise their roles.
