On Sunday, Suseenthiran's Naan Mahaan Alla clocked 15 years since its release. Sharing the piece of information, actor Vishnu Vishal took to his official X handle to reveal that he was director Suseenthiran's first choice for the film. 

Calling the film one of his favourites, he wrote, "I was supposed to do this as my second film with Suseenthiran sir after Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu. It was almost finalised but then fate had other plans. Sometimes I think ‘What if' this was my second film. But then it's not What if, It's What is :)" (sic)

Set in Chennai, Naan Mahaan Alla follows an unemployed and carefree man, Jeeva (Karthi), whose father becomes the target of a young group of miscreants, after witnessing a crime enacted by them. Kajal Aggarwal, Jayaprakash, Soori, Vijay Sethupathi, and Lakshmi Ramakrishnan are also a part of the film's cast. The film marks Karthi's fifth, the release of which came after Paiyaa. 

Meanwhile, Vishnu Vishal was last seen in Gatta Kusthi and has Lal Salaam, Mohandas, and Aaryan in the pipeline.
