Suriya, on Tuesday, penned a note on 20 years of Kaakha Kaakha, on his official X handle. He shared photos of himself along with Gautham Menon and Jyotika, as well as the rest of the cast and crew and wrote a few words.

"A film that gave me my All! Anbuchelvan will always be close to my heart. Wishes to all the “ilamkandrus” of Kaakha Kaakha the technicians, Jo who first spoke to me about the film & my co-actors, & Gautham Menon. Thank you… So many good memories…!" (sic)

Kaakha Kaakha was Gautham Menon's third directorial, after his debut Minnale and its official Hindi remake Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Main. Jeevan, Daniel Balaji, Manobala, Devadarshini, Sethu Rajan and Vivek Anand were also a part of the film's cast.

The action-drama film was one of the biggest blockbusters in Suriya's filmography back then, and was considered a comeback for Kalaipuli S Thanu's V Creations. The film featured music composed by Harris Jayaraj, editing by Anthony and cinematography by RD Rajasekhar.
