We had earlier reported that director Athiyan Athirai of Irandam Ulagaporin Kadaisi Gundu (2019) fame is working on his next, titled Thandakaaranayam. On Wednesday, actor Bala Saravanan, who is a part of the film's cast, took to Twitter to announce that they have wrapped the first schedule of the film. 

Thandakaaranyam stars Kalaiyarasan and Attakathi-fame Dinesh in lead roles. Rythvika, Vinsu Sam, Shabeer Kallarakkal and Bala Saravanan play prominent roles in the film. Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions is backing the film in association with Learn and Teach Production.   

Thandakaaranyam is based on a screenplay written by the director himself. Pratheep Kaliraja will be handling the cinematography for the film while Selva RK takes care of the editing. Justin Prabhakaran, known for films like Radhe Shyam and Gatta Kusthi, is composing the music for the film.
