Sarpatta Parambarai gets selected for Moscow Internation Film Festival 

Directed by Pa Ranjith, the film starred Arya in the lead role

On Thursday, actor Arya took to Twitter to announce that Sarpatta Parambarai, the actor's film with Pa Ranjith, has been selected for the Moscow International Film Festival. Taking to Twitter, Arya shared the film's poster and wrote, "Our Kabilan's story is making its mark at the Moscow International Film Festival. Excited and grateful to let you know that Sarpatta Parambarai has made it into the official selection of Moscow International Film Festival 2023." (sic)

Previously Pa Ranjith announced the sequel to the film.  Sarpatta Round 2 is expected to go on floors soon and an announcement regarding the rest of the cast members will be made soon.

Sarpatta Parambarai was a period sports film released directly on the Prime Video OTT platform in 2021. The first instalment revolved around a clash between two boxing clans Idiyappa Parambarai and Sarpatta Parambarai. Set in North Chennai, the film reflects on the legacy of boxing culture and its politics.
