On Sunday, Dhanush announced that he is all set to work on another film with director Mari Selvaraj, which will be backed by the former's home banner Wunderbar Films. The announcement came on the occasion of the two-year anniversary of Karnan. 

Music composer Santhosh Narayanan, who has composed music for Mari's Pariyerum Perumal, Karnan, and his upcoming film Vaazhai, took to Twitter to share his excitement about the announcement. He wrote, "The world is yours Mari Selvaraj. Vaazhai will be one of the greatest Tamil movies of all time. Can’t wait for Maamannan too. Thank you Dhanush sir for consistently celebrating raw talent. This film will make us all proud."

Apart from Karnan, Santhosh has also composed music for other Dhanush films such as Jagame Thandhiram, Vada Chennai and Kodi. 

Tentatively titled Production No 15, the Mari Selvaraj-Dhanush film marks the latter's return to production after a five-year-long hiatus. He last produced Maari 2 in 2018. Zee Studios will be producing the film along with Wunderbar Films. While the makers are yet to make it official, Dhanush is expected to play the lead in the film. Details regarding the rest of the cast and crew along with the release plans are expected to be revealed soon.
