Cobra, the action film starring Vikram in the lead and directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, is now streaming on SonyLIV. The psychological thriller film, produced by S S Lalit Kumar under his banner 7  Screen Studio, was released on 31 August 2002 and received generally mixed reviews.

The film marks the film debut of cricketer Irfan Pathan. Apart from Vikram and Pathan, the ensemble cast also includes Srinidhi Shetty, Roshan Mathew, K. S. Ravikumar, Anandaraj, Robo Shankar, Miya George, Mirnalini Ravi, Sarjano Khalid, and Meenakshi Govindarajan in supporting roles.

The film has music composed by Oscar-winner A R Rahman while the cinematography was handled by Harish Kannan. The film begins with the Interpol officers hot on the heels of a mysterious assassin who kills people using his mathematical skills.

The film was shot in various exotic locations including Kolkata, Kerala, and Russia. The satellite rights for the film have been bought by Kalaignar TV.
