Actor Pasupathy has reportedly joined the cast of Vikram’s upcoming project directed by Pa Ranjith. The film marks the reunion of Pasupathy and Vikram, nearly seven years after 2015’s 10 Endrathukulla. The actors have earlier collaborated on Majaa, Arul, and Dhool. This is the first time Vikram is joining hands with  Pa Ranjith, who recently directed Pasupathy in Sarpatta Parambarai. 

The film, tentatively titled Chiyaan 61, revolves around the struggles of workers in the Kolar Gold Mines. The cast and crew are currently busy shooting the film in Kadapa District in Andhra Pradesh.  Kishore Khore who recently worked with Pa Ranjith on Natchathiram Nagargirathu, is handling the cinematographer for the project. GV Prakash Kumar will compose the music for the film. 

Initially Rashmika Mandanna was attached to the project but following her exit it was speculated that  Master fame Malavika Mohanan had replaced her.
