Director-actor KS Ravikumar has been reportedly roped in to play an important role in Suriya 42. The team recently wrapped up a major schedule in Goa and will resume shoot soon.

The film is said to be set in two timelines and the present-time portions will be completed before moving on to the period portions, which involve grand sets.

It may be noted that KS Ravikumar directed Suriya in 2009's Aadhavan and the Ghajini actor made a cameo in Manmadhan Ambu.

Suriya 42 is jointly produced by UV Creations and Studio Green with Devi Sri Prasad scoring the music. The film stars Disha Patani as the female lead with Kovai Sarala, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley and Anandraj playing important characters.
