Kasethan Kadavulada gets a new release date

Kasethan Kadavulada, the upcoming Tamil remake of the 1972 film by the same name, is set to hit the big screens on December 23, the makers confirmed on Wednesday.

The film is helmed by R Kannan and features an ensemble star cast, including Shiva, Priya Anand, Yogi Babu, Urvashi, and Karunakaran among others. The film also features Sivaangi and Pugazh of Cook With Comali-fame in supporting roles. Kannan is also bankrolling the film under his home banner Masala Pix in association with MKRP Productions. The remake has music by N Kannan while Prasanna Kumar has handled the cinematography.

The 1972 film was written and directed by Chitralaya Gopu and was a caper comedy starring Muthuraman, Lakshmi, Srikanth, Thengai Srinivasan, Manorama among others. It focuses on a young man who tries to con his stingy stepmother mother by teaming up with his cousin and friend. The film turned out to be a commercial success.
