CE Features

Prince, the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer film which recently released in theatres, is set to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from November 25, the streaming platform announced on social media on Monday.

Starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role, under Anudeep KV’S directorial; Prince had a simultaneous release in both Tamil and Telugu. The film marks the debut for the filmmaker in Tamil film industry, who has previously helmed Jathi Ratnalu in Telugu. Prince opened to mixed reviews from critics.

Aside Sivakarthikeyan, the film also stars Ukranian actor Maria Riaboshapka in her Tamil debut, Sathyaraj, Premji among others. The film is a romantic comedy set in Pondicherry. Both Maria and Sivakarthikeyan play teachers of a school. Prince features a cross-country love story.

Speaking to CE, Maria said about working in Prince, “According to me, the social subtext of this film is equality and freedom of rights. I think it is sad and painful when people are judged for their nationality, skin colour, weight, gender, profession, money and appearance. We have to ensure that everyone could live their life to the fullest. I hope a day comes when there is no suffering in the world.”

The film's technical crew consists of Manoj Paramahamsa as the cinematographer, with Praveen KL on the edit.
