Silambarasan TR’s Pathu Thala streaming rights bagged by Amazon Prime Video

The post theatrical streaming rights for Silambarasan TR’s upcoming gangster film titled Pathu Thala have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video. The film is a remake of Obeli N Krishna’s 2017 Kannada film Mufti, the Tamil version of the film will also be directed by Obeli Krishna. 

The Kannada schedule of the film’s production had recently wrapped up, and Simbu announced the news through his social media handle. It is worth noting that Simbu’s recently released film Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’s streaming rights had also been bought by Amazon Prime Video. 

Apart from Simbu in the lead, the film has an ensemble cast that includes Gautham Karthik, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Kalaiyarasan, and Teejay Arunasalam.  AR Rahman, who recently composed the music for Simbu’s recent release VTK, will be composing the music for Pathu Thala.

Farook J Basha is handling the cinematography for the film while Praveen KL is taking care of the editing. Although the makers are yet to announce a release date for the film, Pathu Thala is expected to release sometime in December.
