Radio jockey-turned-actor Balaji, known for films LKG and Mookuthi Amman, minced no words while talking at a college event as the chief guest. The actor spoke about how young guys are finding it hard to socialise and work with women in workplaces. He blamed the habit of segregating boys and girls in our school and colleges, which deprive both genders of social skills.

He also added that Tamil films also influence guys in the way they perceive well-read and working women. He cited Rajinikanth's films Padayappa and Mannan as examples of such depiction.

He said, "In Padayappa, you see the girl, who does household chores, is portrayed as the good woman, and the foreign-bred educated woman is the bad one. I like Superstar a lot. However, in Mannan, Vijayashanthi, who works and runs a company, is the bad one. While Kushboo, the one who helps the mom at home, is the good one. We portray women in a very wrong way in our society."

RJ Balaji is lauded on social media for his speech. People from several quarters have come out to praise the actor for addressing an important issue in our society.

On the work front, Balaji was last seen in his directorial venture, Mookuthi Amman. He will next be seen in Veetla Vishesham, the Tamil remake of the Hindi film, Badhaai Ho. Also directed by Balaji, the film stars Orvasi, Sathyaraj, and Aparna Balamurali in lead roles.
