Actor Pugazh, who shot to fame with his stints in comedy reality shows like Kalakkapovadhu Yaaru and Cook With Comali, is set to turn lead hero with the upcoming film, Mr Zoo Keeper. 

Recently, he was also part of films like Santhanam's Sabapathy and Ashwin Kumar's Enna Solla Pogirai. Pugazh joins the list of comedians who have made the transition as full-fledged heroes in films. 

The first look of the film, which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, was launched at the Cook with Comali Season 3 show.

Billed to be an adventure film with liberal doses of humour, Mr Zoo Keeper will be written and helmed by J Suresh, who has directed films like Madhavan's Ennavale. The film, which went on floors in Ooty on Sunday, has Shirin Kanchwala cast opposite Pugazh. With cinematography by Tanvir Mir of Psycho-fame, the film will be backed by Jeba of J4 Studios. The film will also be shot in the Philippines, where the team is expected to shoot with a live tiger and other animals.  

Pugazh, who was recently seen in big-ticket films like Valimai and Etharkkum Thunindhavan, will also be part of upcoming projects like Kasedhaan Kadavulada, Yaanai, and Agent Kannariyam.
