Actor Rajinikanth's fan AP Muthumani, well-known for starting the first fan club for the star, passed away earlier today due to health issues. He was 63.

Muthumani, a native to Madurai, started the Rajini Fans Association in 1977 when Rajinikanth was still playing negative roles in films.

According to reports, Rajinikanth had honoured his fan by dedicating the Muthumani Chudare Vaa song from his 1984 film Anbulla Rajinikanth to him.

Notably, in 2020, when Muthumani was admitted to a private hospital due to a lung infection, Rajinikanth had called the fan and enquired about his health.

Tributes have been pouring in for Muthumani on social media.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is set to star in his 169th film, directed by Nelson. It is also rumoured that the actor will collaborate with Arunraja Kamaraj for his 170th film.
