Actor Suriya is in Kochi today for the promotions of his new film Etharkkum Thunindhavan, which is gearing up to hit screens on March 10.

While addressing the media, Suriya revealed that Malayalam filmmaker Amal Neerad narrated a story to him. He also expressed hope that the project will take off soon.

Reportedly, Amal Neerad and Suriya had earlier planned a remake of a Mammootty film, but it didn't materialise.

Meanwhile, Amal Neerad's latest release Bheeshma Parvam starring Mammootty has opened to largely positive response. The film, set in the 1980s, is a gangster drama with a huge enesemble. Shine Tom Chacko, Sreenath Bhasi, Soubin Shahir, Nadhiya Moidu, Anasuya and Veena Nandakumar also star in it.
