The makers of Maayon, the Sibi Sathyaraj-starrer which released in theatres on Friday (June 24), have announced a sequel for the film.

Maayon also starred Tanya Ravichandran, Hareesh Peradi, KS Ravikumar. It was produced by Double Meaning Production banner.

While releasing the poster of the film, the makers said, "Maayon has another side to it... another chapter.. another universe.. A grand visual treat of our traditional values with thrills and twists. Do you live in darkness or does the darkness live in you?”

According to media reports, the second part will be made on a bigger scale and will have a pan-Indian release. While the first part revolved around Lord Vishnu’s temple, the second part will centre around Lord Murugan. However, it is yet to be confirmed if the same cast and crew will feature in the second installment as well.

Maayon’s sequel is set to release for Diwali 2023, in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam.
