It is well-known that Karthi has teamed up with director PS Mithran of Abhimanyudu (2018)-fame for the action-thriller, Sardar. It has now come to light that Nagarjuna Akkineni’s Annapurna Studios has obtained the distribution rights of the movie, backed by S Lakshman Kumar's Prince Pictures, for the Telugu states.

Karthi enjoys a huge following in Telugu, and director PS Mithran too won appreciation for Abhimanyudu. Sardar is much awaited in Tamil as well as Telugu.

Sardar stars Raashi Khanna in the lead and also features Rajisha Vijayan and Chunky Panday will be seen in prominent roles. While George C Williams takes care of the cinematography, this project will mark the first Mithran film to have music by GV Prakash Kumar.

The film’s shoot is currently in progress. Sardar is getting ready for its theatrical release in Telugu and Tamil for Diwali this year. The post-theatrical rights for the film are bagged by Aha Tamil.
