The long-awaited sequel to the blockbuster Chandramukhi has finally been announced by the filmmaker P Vasu. The film stars Raghava Lawrence as the male lead and Vadivelu in an important role. Though Vasu will be helming the sequel it hasn't been made clear if Chandramukhi 2 is a remake of the Telugu film Nagavalli or a fresh script. 

Earlier the film was supposed to be bankrolled by Sun Pictures. But now Lyca Productions have taken over the project. Chandramukhi 2 will have music by Maragadhamani and art direction by Thotta Tharani. 

The makers have made it clear that the rest of the cast and crew will be announced soon. It may be noted that Vasu, Lawrence and Vadivelu had previously worked together in Shivalinga, which was also a horror entertainer. 

Chandramukhi, starring Rajinikanth, Jyotika, Nayanthara, Prabhu, Vadivelu and Nasser was ran for 890 days and the Telugu version was also declared a major hit.
